SmartEdgeLaw View on FISMA 2.0 Quoted in FedTech Magazine

FedTech_April2015While data breaches at retailers and merchants get the headlines, governmental breaches – particularly on the federal level – are an all too common occurrence.  According to federal watchdogs, there were 25,556 breaches of personally identifiable information in 2013, up from 10,481 in 2009.

In response, SmartEdgeLaw’s opinion on the need and requirements of the Federal Information Systems Modernization Act, which President Obama signed into law this past December, was sought by FedTech Magazine, the leading publication covering technology use by the federal government.

The article FISMA 2.0: Feds Meet New Security Standard, summarizes the first major federal security update to FISMA requirements since enactment of the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002.
