An interesting question has come in from several clients, large and small, lately as to remedies and options they have for recovering a social media account. While the latest inquiries seem, for whatever reason, to be focused on Google+ the same scenarios apply to other social media outlets.
Typically two scenarios are common. The first is where an employee created an account for personal use, but using “corporate” credentials (i.e., company email). And when they leave said company the corp email account is disabled leaving them in a blackhole when trying to reclaim the clearly personal account. The second is the converse. That is where a corporate Google+ account is set up and the employee with the login credentials departs without telling anyone the information leaving the corporation in a social media bind. What can you do in such a situation?
